Prey

Prey is a multi-OS anti-theft, data security, and management platform that helps you track your computer when it is stolen.

Installation

Install the prey-node-client^AUR package.

Configuration

Note: Create an account on Prey's website if you have not done so already.

Tip:

• You can configure Prey using either the CLI configuration or the GUI configuration.
• The installer has automatically started/enabled prey-agent.service to activate Prey at boot. You can check the unit status if in doubt.

CLI configuration

Configure your device with your Prey account:

# prey-tracker config account setup

Follow on-screen instructions.

To activate your configuration, run prey-tracker config activate as user prey:

[prey]$ prey-tracker config activate

Plugins

To enable/disable plugins, you must run

# prey-tracker config plugins

Read on-screen instructions to list the available plugins and enable/disable them.

GUI configuration

You can use the GUI to configure prey:

# prey-tracker config gui

Troubleshooting

To troubleshoot, run

$ prey-tracker config check
